Swamp Bowl
The 21st Annual Swamp Bowl
Regional Flag Football Tournament was held in Gainesville, Florida from October
17-19. 42 teams came to Gainesville for the weekend to compete in Men's,
Women's and Co-Rec Divisions. It was a beautiful weekend for Flag
Football with clear skies and temperatures reaching the low 80's. In the
Men's Final The Immortals from the University of Central Florida defeated West
Florida Clockwork from the University of West Florida by a final score of
35-13. In the Women's final Next 2 None from the University of West
Florida withstood a late drive from FAMU Simply Marvelous with a goal line
interception with only seconds left in the game. Next 2 None defeated
FAMU 13-7. In the Co-Rec division USF Finest defeated the 3rd Grade Line
Leaders from the University of Florida 30-18.

Throughout the course of the
weekend players from each team made an impression on the staff working the
tournament. The All Tournament Committee was faced with some very difficult
decisions when it came time to pick the members of the All Tournament Teams and
the Tournament MVP’s.

32 officials from around the Southeast came to Gainesville to officiate
the tournament. These officials came to
develop their skills as officials and work towards being selected as one of
four All Tournament Officials. The four All Tournament Officials received bids
to either the NIRSA National Campus Championships Series Flag Football
Championships in Tampa, Florida or to the ACIS Football National
Championships.

It was a great weekend for Flag Football in Gainesville and we hope to
