I think it is extremely important to train the body as a
whole. We move on a day-to-day basis in a functional pattern, and
therefore need to do the same when experiencing a fitness routine. I believe fitness training to be a
preventative measure of healthcare. As research shows, many chronic
diseases can be avoided, or their symptoms lessened, by engaging in a fitness
routine, not to mention, it makes you feel good! Exercising needs to be
fun, and programs individualized to fit the goals of each person; in essence,
there really is something for everyone. Through my dance and fitness
training, I have gained an appreciation for the way the human body moves, and
believe it should be challenged and enjoyed for all that it is.
Personal Interests and Hobbies: Distance swimming, triathlon
training, modern and contemporary dance, biking, mountain biking, weight
lifting, good music, good friends, going to the beach, enjoying life, pushing
my body to its limits!
