Frequently Asked Questions about the Personal Training and Assessment Center

Q. Are body compositions free?
A. If you're a current student or member, then YES! Just bring your Gator1 ID.
Q. What's included in the full free assessment?

Q. How will the assessment help me?
A. Achieving exercise results is the product of many factors. These include: amount of exercise, the body’s adaptation to exercise, musculoskeletal efficiency, motivation and diet. The most effective way to measure exercise results is through fitness testing. Fitness testing creates a foundation for an exercise program and helps to monitor progress over time.
Q. What if I'm interested in personal training?
A. The personal training office is located at Southwest Recreation Center. You sign up there and we will conduct your fitness assessment to create a foundation for your program. For more on personal traing click here.
Q. How do I become healthier and make lifestyle changes?
A. The assessment is a good start to find out what your body needs; it can only take you so far though. Being healthy is a lifestyle that includes nutrition, exercise and constant decisions that are beneficial to you. We will try to give you as much information as we can to lead you to your goals.
