After a long weekend consisting of 16 teams, 39 matches and 2 full days of play, the Gators managed to leave with the Challenger Cup. On Saturday morning, the Gators came out strong in their first match against the University of Maryland and won 19-7. Later that afternoon, the team suffered a tough loss to the University of Delaware by a score of 17-10. Another tough loss to defending champs Dartmouth placed the Gators in the Challenger Bracket, but the next day the team showed up ready to fight. Raphael Freedman scored in overtime to beat Temple University 29-24 and the Gators advanced to the Challenger Cup semifinals. After defeating North Carolina State University by a score of 31-5, the team cruised to the Challenger Cup final. The final match was once again against Maryland and the Gators pulled through with a victory of 20-14. Congratulations Gators!
