Water Skiing and Wake Boarding

Lake Wauburg Wakeboarding

Lake Wauburg offers free water skiing and wake boarding to all UF students, faculty and staff. The only requirements are to have a valid Gator-1 Card and a Lake Wauburg Ski Card. Equipment is provided or you can bring your own.  A 2008 Malibu V Ride is the boat used for either Skiing or wake boarding.


How  to get a ski card:

Take a swim test consisting of a 200 yard swim and treading water for 5 minutes. Sign a waiver form.  Ask a UF lifeguard for the form.

Wake boarding and skiing will begin on July 7 for summer B call at 12:00 noon

How to get a water skiing time slot: 
 
Call (352) 466-4112 on Tuesday from 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. - to get an appointment to water ski / wakeboard in the current week. This is the only time of the week to call for reservations.

One 20 minute time slot can be reserved per caller.

  • If an appointment is made during the current week, an appointment for the next week, cannot be made until 12:30 p.m.
  • At least 24 hours notice of cancellation must be made to be able to water ski the next active week.
  • Cancelled appointments are cancelled.  Please, do not call or wait on shore for a cancellation.
  • A Gator 1 Card and ski card is required in order to get pulled behind on the boat.
  • Guests are allowed to ride in the boat. Guests are not allowed to water ski /wake board.
  • Appointments may be cancelled by Lake Wauburg staff for reasons due to weather, mechanical problems or if the driver becomes ill or unavailable.  We will make every effort to call if there is a cancellation.

  • The Lake Wauburg boat driver is in charge and will stop activities at any time if they feel it is necessary to maintain safety.

Congratulations UF Wakeboard team!
The University of Florida won the team title at the third annual Collegiate Wakeboard Nationals on Sunday in Boulder, Colo. The Gators defeated Texas A&M in the finals. Defending champion Central Florida along with UNC-Wilmington were the other two teams that advanced to the final four. Twelve of the nation's top collegiate wakeboarding teams participated in the event.
