Congratulations to UF's own Gator Escort Service for winning the 2007 ACIS National Flag Football Championship in New Orleans, Louisiana! The team traveled up to "The Big Easy" the last weekend in December and took on over 40 of the best flag football teams in the country.
Gator Escort Service blasted through pool play with a 2-0 record and was rewarded with a first-round bye in the playoffs. They dramatically held off their first two tournament opponents, Augustana College and Southeast Louisiana, by a combined nine points. The final saw Gator Escort Service face a familiar foe in the UCF Knights. UF's finest held the lead throughout the game and a last minute interception sealed a 20-18 victory and a national title.
In addition to a national title, Gator Escort Service garnered many individual awards as well. Robert Repp was named to the 2nd team All-American Offense, while John Cox and Anthony Garton were named to the 1st team Offense. John Palsis was named to the 1st team All-American Defense, and Adam Langston was named the Tournament's Most Valudable Defensive Player.
Congratulations to all of the Gator Escort Service team members on their National Championship!
