Core Assessment

The core muscles include the rectus abdominus, the transverse abdominus, spinal erectors, and the internal & external oblique muscles. These muscles are responsible for balance and movement of the core.

Flexor Chain Balance: Performed to identify muscle imbalance between the muscles of the abdominals and the muscles in the neck.

Lateral Flexion:  Assessment of the strength of the quadratus lumborum (QL) and the obliques.  This test is used to assess balance between the right and the left QL and deep stabilizing muscles of the core.

Hover Assessment:  Static hold to assess the transverse abdominus (TVA), the body's natural weight belt.

Single-Leg Balance Assessment:  Determines the client's level of lower limb stability and core strength.
