Cardiovascular Endurance (VO2 max)
Cardiovascular Endurance is a measurement of your maximum oxygen uptake (VO2 max). It measures how efficient your body is in delivering oxygen to your muscles. Consistent aerobic activity can improve the efficiency of your body’s usage of oxygen. VO2 max is measured using a bike test. The client will be riding a bike for approximately 7-9 minutes, while progressively increasing the intensity. Heart rate, blood pressure, and rate of perceived exertion (RPE) are all monitored through out the test. Why is cardiovascular training important?
