The Department of Recreational Sports would like to invite parents of University of Florida students to be involved in their recreational experience. Your student’s involvement in sports and physical activity will help to reduce stress and create an overall healthy lifestyle. Exercise releases endorphins, increases motivation and will also help to physically release muscle tension, all vital to good health. Encourage your student to be involved in RecSports activities, whether it is playing on an Intramural Sports team, compete with one of our 40 Sport Clubs or join an Instructional Class. Your role in your student’s life is important and we want to provide you with resources that can be helpful when encouraging them to make the right decisions while attending college.
Are you concerned with the amount of stress your student is facing? Stress relief is an essential part of overall health and wellness. RecSports offers a Massage Therapy program that provides students with a relaxing and unique way to relieve stress. Therapists on staff are licensed within their field of expertise. Muscular tension, fatigue, headaches and backaches are all physical symptoms of stress. Massage Therapy is a great way to relieve these symptoms while providing students with time to mentally and emotionally escape their stressful routine and recharge their batteries. Please call the Training Center at (352) 273-2421 to purchase a gift certificate for your student and visit the Massage Therapy page for more information.
